Snow and Aunt Megee and Uncle Roonie

This last weekend we went up to Brian head with Brady's office. His boss had rented a cabin for everyone to enjoy and spend Sat goofing in the snow. Cadence has never really been in the snow and so it was really fun to see her play around. We tried to find some places to sled but it wasn't working super good. Cady had fun anyway!

You know you love the Pooh bear hat and gloves! Saturday afternoon we drove back down to St. George to visit Ryan and Megan. They were kind enough to let us crash at their place for a while. The first thing Cadence did when we got to their apartment was pull out the Guitars for Guitar Hero. She looks like a natural huh?

Later that night we had dinner at a good stake place (the wait was horrendous but the food was fab). Cadence had a great time with her Aunt Megan and Uncle Ryan. She totally adores them and I love seeing her with people she loves! It was a great weekend and I can't wait to see Meegs and Ry again soon! I miss seeing you guys all the time!

Easter, Birthday Parties, and much much more!

Well, time to catch everyone up on Easter weekend! We spent the weekend in the Salt Lake area and had a blast with Brady's cousin's! We arrived very early on Friday morning and slept some. Brady's cousin Rawlee and his wife Dasiy were kind enough to let us stay with them for the weekend (thanks again you guys, you are the best!). Friday we spent the day at the Hogle Zoo with Colin, Heather, Saylor and Paisley. Cadence had a great time even the start of our day was pretty darn cold! I will have pictures and info on that tomorrow since the pictures are on Brady's computer and I need to transfer them first! Cadence had a great time with her cousins like always and the zoo was awesome!
Friday night was a double birthday party for Ada and Lyla. They celebrated their 1st birthday's together (they were born 10 days apart). Daisy and Kim made some adorable ladybug cakes for the girls and boy did they go to town on them. We had so much fun celebrating with them! These two little girls sure know how to party!

Here is lovely Ada...

And beautiful Lyla with mom Kim...
Saturday we went to an Easter Egg hunt at the park. Cadence didn't really "get" it at first but managed to get a few eggs. Then we headed over to Chris and Kim's house where Cadence was going to be babysat while we went to the Temple. Thanks to Chris and Kim for letting us share your sitter! Cadence is still asking to go to Connor's house to play ball. :o)

We then spent a beautiful afternoon at the Bountiful temple where Brady's mom and uncles were sealed to their parents for time and all eternity. It was one of the most beautiful spiritual experiences of my life and I was so happy that we could be there to witness it!

We picked up Cadence and then headed to a great park where we had a potluck dinner with almost everyone in the Wilson clan and then there was an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Cadence got it this time and got a bunch of eggs and WAY to much candy. But it was great fun! Thanks to everyone who made that weekend such a great time! We always have so much fun when we are with you guys and I can't wait to do it again!

We drove home on Sunday so Cady didn't actually wear her Easter dress on Easter. But here is a picture of her in it that I took for my last Studio assignment. She was mad at me for some reason so most of my shots looked like the two below. You can check the rest out on my photoblog!

Sometimes the best pictures aren't the ones where they are smiling! lol.

Happy Easter!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter! We are going to be gone this weekend in Utah visiting Brady's extended family and I won't have the opportunity to post until Monday. I should have a ton of fun pictures and things to share after a weekend with the Wilson side of the family! We ALWAYS have a good time with them. But the best part of the weekend is that my mother-in-law and her brothers will all be sealed to their parents! It should be a great weekend!

I hope that you all have a wonderful Easter!

When Cady gets sick...

So on Sunday, Brady and I were put through our true parenthood initiation. You know, the real deal. We were sitting in Sacrament meeting enjoying Fast and Testimony meeting. It was going really well. Cady was behaving (she had already eaten lunch and taken a nap before church...we start at 1:30pm) drinking her drink and sitting like a good girl when out of no where she exploded! Her lunch was all over her, the pew, and my favorite skirt. And it just kept coming! I was trying to contain it with wipes while she got it all out...I think Brady was in shock until I told him to take her to the bathroom and clean her up. My buddy Charlie came flying over with her wipes (bless you Charlie!) and stuck it out with me while we did our best to clean it all up. Next thing I know, I have mom's and dad's from all over the chapel handing me packets of tissue and bringing me paper towels from the bathroom. It was awesome! So much team work. The sister in front of me offered to go down to the janitors closet and get me some disinfectant (which we really needed). By the time the closing song was over the pew was as clean as it was going to get (as well as the floor beneath it). I was amazed at how many people had jumped up to help and in that moment I realized that I was truly part of a ward family. It is a wonderful feeling.
We decided to take Cady home (all she had left to wear that was clean was her diaper and her church shoes). Brady and I need to change clothes and we wanted to make sure that this was going to be it. Cady was acting just fine and was mad at us that she couldn't go to nursery with all her friends (yes she finally LOVES it there...yippee for us). We got home and changed. Cady was bouncing off the walls as usual. Then she tossed her cookies again. Then again. By 6pm Sunday night she had a fever and was throwing up everything we tried to give her (which was mostly fluids). Brady and my dad gave her a blessing and the next morning we took her to a pediatric quick care. They were worried and so were we. She had a 103 temp and couldn't keep any meds down so they decided to give her a Tylenol supository...yup...in the bum. Cady was so out of it that she didn't even MOVE while they did this! My poor baby was just laying there staring off into space. By the time we left her temp had come down to 101 and she was keeping some water down. We came home and she slept most of the day and we were giving her water and Gatorade with a medicine spoon. I was so worried that she wasn't going to bounce back or that she would get too dehydrated and we would have to go to the hospital. Tuesday she was a bit more alert and her fever was gone, but she was refusing to eat or drink unless forced. She also started with the diarrhea. She would just cry and cry and then unload and then sleep. It was insane. By this point I was completely spent. I was just sleeping with her on the couch when I could or holding her (it was the only thing she would ask of me..."Mommy! I want to hold you!").
Wednesday marked a turning point. Cady woke up and wanted to eat! Yes! She drank like normal and by evening she could stand and walk on her own again. She was even playing in her play kitchen. I can't tell you how over joyed I was to see her up and alert and chatting again. I about broke down in tears. Last night was the first night we all slept through the night in three days! She still has a bit of the runs, but nothing like yesterday and the day before.
So that is what we have been up to the last few days. Cadence has never been this sick before and I feel like I made it through some kind of parental right of passage. I have also come to the conclusion that the stomach flu SUCKS (or maybe the better term is blows?) and I hope no one else I know has to deal with it!

Puppy Towels

So Cadence LOVES her Puppy towel (unless of course she sees her elephant or kitty towels first...kids are funny that way). She had just taken a bath and before she got dressed I snapped a few shots. She was making the face below (which I thought was perfection in my photographer brain) I snapped the shot and then she told me that she went Pee-Pee. So this is Cady's "Pee-Pee Look." Yeah I thought you all would get a kick out of that! Unfortunately the Puppy towel is out of commission for a couple of days while he gets a bath, but I think he will make it though this trauma just fine! Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

Belle and Hair Cuts

Cadence is pretty sure that she is a princess. She tells me this at least once every day, and if she isn't a princess she is "like and princess." Her words not mine! lol. So here she is in all her Belle glory. These pictures will also serve as a "before" picture of her hair.

I love how the ball is behind her hand in this shot. That combine with the leg is priceless.
Now on to the hair cut. Her buddy Gia was getting one at Grandma Suzi's house on Monday night and she wanted one too. Aunt Heather told me she wanted to give Cadence a bob and I agreed (since I don't really care that much so long as it is cute). Cadence held perfectly still on the table while her Aunt Heather cut her hair "so cute!" in Cady's words. It really is pretty darn cute! Cadence has also refered to her hair as "Beaumtiful" and "like a princess." Every morning since she wakes up and says, "Hi mommy! My hair is so pretty! I gots a cut!" Here is a pic of the front and the back. It is about 2 and 1/2 inches shorter, which on her little head is a lot.

Thanks bunches Aunt Heather for the much needed hair cut! She really loves it!
Also Monday night, Cady's cousin Paisley decided to put on a show for everyone. To start you should know that Paisley loves to be neked. Pretty much every time I see her she manages to lose at least three articles of clothing before she leaves. Monday night she upped the ante with the bucket. Here is what we all saw (I appologize if anyone is offended by nude toddler bums!):
You know she has the cutest behind on earth. Just admit it. You want one. Okay maybe the guys reading don't. :o) Oh and Heather, just let me know if you want me to take this down. ;o)

Cadence's 2nd Birthday!

Better late then never. I meant to post this much sooner, but the days have just been crazy.

First things first, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU CADENCE! I cannot believe that she is 2 years old already! Her birthday was Saturday and boy did we have a blast of a party. Friday night I was busy getting food ready to put together on Saturday morning and baking Cady's cake. We woke up early the next morning so I could decorate the cake and start the Chicken, Apple, Grape, Super Yum Salad (It doesn't have a name that I know of so this is what I call it). The Salad then went on Crousaunts and then we put together the veggie tray and the fruit platters. It was a really Yummy party. Here is a picture of Cady's completed cake...no making fun of my cake decorating skills...

It was a beautiful day outside and all the kids played outside for about 40 minutes before we herded them inside to either eat cake or open presents. Cady picked open presents first and actually did open a few before it degenerated to this:
It was awesome. Totally the most fun I have seen a bunch of 18 month to 3 year olds have in a long time. This is what the floor looked like when they decided to move on to other things:

Then we had cake and ice cream. We of course sang to Cady. I don't have pictures of her blowing out the candle, but we got it on tape. The cutest part was that Cady's older cousin, Saylor, insisted that she sing happy birthday to Cady by herself. IT WAS ADORABLE. And she got pretty much all the words right! We got it all on tape. Then everyone sang and Cady blew out her candle (after Saylor told her too when the song was over...thank goodness someone knew how it was supposed to work! We love you Saylor!). Anyway here is Cady enjoying her cake!

Brady and I got Cadence a couple of Princess Dress Up Dresses for her birthday (she is obsessed with the Disney Princesses and insists that she IS one. We agree whole heartedly!). She of course wanted to try them on and dance around. Then she found the bubble gun that Uncle Kyle got for her and this was the fun that resulted...

Yeah, there was bubble juice all over the floor but she was having a blast and got Avery to grin...

As you can see, Cadence had a really good time. So did everyone who made it out to celebrate with us!
Cadence also had her 2 year check up with her doctor on Monday and was actually chatty with the Doc for the first time ever. She kept asking her what she was doing and telling her that after the Doctor we were going to eat. I never said we were going to eat, but Cady had apparently decided that we were. The Doctor was very impressed with her verbal skills. Once again she was 75th percentile for weight (30lbs...my darling little tank) and was above 97 percent for height (she is now three feet tall...insane...people think she is 3 not 2). I then explained to her that she had to have two shots and that they would hurt but that she would get a bandaid and a sucker for getting them. She was all excited until they actually stuck her with the needle. She told the nurse, "You hurt me! I need kisses!" and bawled for about ten minutes. As we were paying and checking out she told me that we were going to eat and that she wanted Mac and Cheese because she got an owie and she was sad. So I took her to Denny's where she proceeded to order pancakes and eggs...go figure. She ate it all though! :o)
The rest of the day she milked the owie card for all she was worth. It was pretty funny.
Anyway, Happy Birthday Cady! We love you and can't wait to see where you are at next year!
