Crazy week!

This past week has been insane!  Last Sunday Rory was worse than before and so Brady decided to stay home on Monday and take her to another Drs appointment.  I went to the WPPI convention on Monday and during my first class Brady called to let me know that Rory was going to have to go on breathing treatments and that they wanted to do an X-ray to make sure that her lungs were okay.  She also had to be on antibiotics for infection.  I was worried sick and almost couldn't enjoy myself Monday, but I was grateful that Brady had stayed home to take care of things while I was gone learning all I could about photography and business building.  We got Rory on the treatments and she has gradually gotten much better (her X-ray came back good).  She did better than I thought she would with me being gone for three days in a row.  I do want to say that this product SAVED my butt!  It is the Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump.  I have had other pumps before, but this one takes the cake.  It can be converted to work with one of their electric pumps, but works fantastic as a manual pump.  I had to buy it last minute because my Dr. Browns pump lost suction right before the convention and I couldn't wait for the part to get off back order.  This Medela pump was only $35 (my other two had been $55 - 100) and the first time I pumped on Monday morning I got 6 ozs FROM ONE SIDE!!!!!  I was totally in love.  I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good once in a while pump.   Anyway....
WPPI was amazing!  I learned way too much and I am so glad that I took great notes.  My buddy Wendhy took a bunch from her classes and we have been note sharing.  It was a totally awesome experience and I can't wait to do it again next year.  It was also fun bumping in to all you other local photographers!
So I spent some time taking some pictures of the girls trying to hone some new skills!  I am hoping to get my website up and running by the end of March.

Family Visits

Whitney and Cord came to visit to meet Tyson and we had so much fun hanging out with them. I also got some new shots of Avery.
New things I have learned about Ave...she almost always looks surprised and she almost always has her mouth open. I love it!

Cadence was mad cause I told her that she had to wait to go swimming and this was the look she was sporting for about 15 minutes....

More of darling Avery...

After Whitney and Cord left Cadence was refusing to take a nap. She needed one badly...I know this because she was throwing fits left and right about things she normally doesn't have issues with. So she had to go to time out (put her nose on the wall). When her 2 minutes were up she went and found her Eeyore and just about every baby doll she could find and climbed up in a chair and told me that she didn't like me. I left her a lone for a bit since I was on the phone with Dr.'s office and by the time I finished (we are talking like 5 minutes) I looked over and found this...
This was at 4:45pm...much to late to be taking a nap. I only let her sleep for 40 minutes and then woke her up. She was still up till about 10pm that night. It was insane. But the picture was priceless.

Cecily's Babyshower and Cadence and Avery

So much has happened in the last little while!  To start off, on the 10th we had my sister Cecily's baby shower!  I know some of you didn't know she was having a baby.  She is due to have a little boy (the very first boy in our immediate family!) around June 9th.  Her shower was AWESOME!  So many people showed up and she and the baby made out like bandits!  I can't wait to meet her son and see what a great mom she will be.

Whitney and Avery flew out a couple of days before the shower and we had a great time hanging out.  I don't think Cadence left Avery's side unless one of them was sleeping!  She was such a big help and still asks when Avery is coming back to our house!  We took some pictures while they were here.  Much thanks to Whitney, Mom, Cecily, Cadence and Avery for going with me out to the JW Marriott to scout some places to take photos for my shoot on the 10th!  We had such a great time!

We also got to go up to Cedar City this past weekend.  Brady, Whitney,Cord, and Cord's brother's and sisters (some in-laws) all went paint balling!  They had a great time.  Cadence and I had a great time baby sitting Avery!  Cadence was once again a huge help.  Avery is teething and was a bit grumpy from time to time (who wouldn't be...I remember my wisdom teeth...not fun!).  I need to pick up some food stuffs at Walmart while everyone was gone, so I packed up both kids and went.  Both kids were being so very good.  Cadence was sitting in the basket with Avery in the seat.  We were getting a goodly amount of attention though...I think most people were trying to figure out how old Avery was and just how far along in my pregnancy I was.  Only one person actually asked me about it.  We managed to get everything we needed before Avery had a complete meltdown...lol...poor girl was hungry and tired.  We made it out of the store alive and I am happy to say that I think I will survive having two little girls out in public.  The weekend was great fun, but I am happy to be home.

Other than that things are going as usual for us.  We are waiting to hear more on our house.  I will drive over this week and get some pictures of the lot.  I hope to do that every week so we can keep track of the progress!

I hope that everyone is having a happy May and that all you moms out there had a great Mother's Day!

In other news...

Well...our lives have been totally crazy lately.

First things first...we are buying a house! I have been waiting to post this because we weren't sure if the loan was going to go through in time. It went through at the last minute on our last day to get approved before losing our "Good Faith" money! That was yesterday and it was one of the most nerve wracking days of my entire life! But it is going through and with any luck it will be done in August just in time for us move in and have a baby! So wish us luck!

Speaking of babies...we can't find a name! Well that's not quite true. We have found some that we like but nothing that just sticks. I feel like every week we find a name that we both like, but it just doesn’t feel “right” after a few days and the whole thing starts over again. It’s probably because I am a head case. We had such and easy time with Cadence. I had always wanted to use that name for a girl and when I told Brady, laid back guy that he is, he totally agreed and we never had a change of heart. It was meant to be her name. This time around we keep finding great boy names. Soooo not what we need since this baby is totally all girl where it counts! Plus Brady really wants to be involved this time around since my favorite ended up working out perfect last time. I am totally all for that! If he find that perfect name I will be so very happy because I am going crazy thinking about it! Thank goodness we have a few more months to decide.

Speaking of Cadence…I really need to start a weekly Cadenceism post! Most of you know what a talker she is. Very articulate and we totally have to watch what we say around her since she is soaking everything in! The other day I asked her if she was excited to have a baby sister. She said the following: “I love my baby sister! She is gonna be little and cry but I don’t want her to cry. I just give her some loves and she will be happy.” About made me cry! When asked if she wanted chicken nuggets or a hamburger for dinner she told me, “I don’t want chichin nuggies. I think a hemburber would taste just yummy though. But it’s only yummy if it has chocolate milk too! Can my hemburber have some chocolate milk mommy?” Just tonight, at Stake Women’s Volleyball, one of the ladies that I play with asked her if she was ready for a little sister. Cadence said, “Yeah, I am. I have some money so it will be okay.”

The best one of the week happened a couple of nights ago. She had been in watching sports with my dad in his room, so I was watching X-Men: Last Stand in the living room. It was the end of the movie right before Hugh Jackman’s character kills another character who had turned evil (long story and hard to explain unless you have seen the movie). Anyway, Hugh Jackman didn’t have much of a shirt left in this scene. Cadence comes waltzing in (literally, she was singing too) and takes one look at the screen and asks me “What’s he doing mommy?” In that split second I am frantically thinking of what to say when Cadence then says “Mommy! He NEEDS to get a shirt on!” She was so appalled that he didn’t have a shirt on…it was SO FUNNY! I couldn’t stop laughing, but I managed to tell her that he sure did need a shirt on! I am really glad that she has a feel for modesty already. That will make my job so much easier down the road! She is certainly keeping us on our toes these days!

She is also letting me take some pictures of her without getting mad! Yes! So here is one of the best ones. I will post some others on the photo blog for your viewing pleasure!

Snow and Aunt Megee and Uncle Roonie

This last weekend we went up to Brian head with Brady's office. His boss had rented a cabin for everyone to enjoy and spend Sat goofing in the snow. Cadence has never really been in the snow and so it was really fun to see her play around. We tried to find some places to sled but it wasn't working super good. Cady had fun anyway!

You know you love the Pooh bear hat and gloves! Saturday afternoon we drove back down to St. George to visit Ryan and Megan. They were kind enough to let us crash at their place for a while. The first thing Cadence did when we got to their apartment was pull out the Guitars for Guitar Hero. She looks like a natural huh?

Later that night we had dinner at a good stake place (the wait was horrendous but the food was fab). Cadence had a great time with her Aunt Megan and Uncle Ryan. She totally adores them and I love seeing her with people she loves! It was a great weekend and I can't wait to see Meegs and Ry again soon! I miss seeing you guys all the time!

Easter, Birthday Parties, and much much more!

Well, time to catch everyone up on Easter weekend! We spent the weekend in the Salt Lake area and had a blast with Brady's cousin's! We arrived very early on Friday morning and slept some. Brady's cousin Rawlee and his wife Dasiy were kind enough to let us stay with them for the weekend (thanks again you guys, you are the best!). Friday we spent the day at the Hogle Zoo with Colin, Heather, Saylor and Paisley. Cadence had a great time even the start of our day was pretty darn cold! I will have pictures and info on that tomorrow since the pictures are on Brady's computer and I need to transfer them first! Cadence had a great time with her cousins like always and the zoo was awesome!
Friday night was a double birthday party for Ada and Lyla. They celebrated their 1st birthday's together (they were born 10 days apart). Daisy and Kim made some adorable ladybug cakes for the girls and boy did they go to town on them. We had so much fun celebrating with them! These two little girls sure know how to party!

Here is lovely Ada...

Ada's big sis Ellie...
Ada and Ellie's big sis Hailey showing us her sweet moves...
And beautiful Lyla with mom Kim...
Saturday we went to an Easter Egg hunt at the park. Cadence didn't really "get" it at first but managed to get a few eggs. Then we headed over to Chris and Kim's house where Cadence was going to be babysat while we went to the Temple. Thanks to Chris and Kim for letting us share your sitter! Cadence is still asking to go to Connor's house to play ball. :o)

We then spent a beautiful afternoon at the Bountiful temple where Brady's mom and uncles were sealed to their parents for time and all eternity. It was one of the most beautiful spiritual experiences of my life and I was so happy that we could be there to witness it!

We picked up Cadence and then headed to a great park where we had a potluck dinner with almost everyone in the Wilson clan and then there was an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Cadence got it this time and got a bunch of eggs and WAY to much candy. But it was great fun! Thanks to everyone who made that weekend such a great time! We always have so much fun when we are with you guys and I can't wait to do it again!

We drove home on Sunday so Cady didn't actually wear her Easter dress on Easter. But here is a picture of her in it that I took for my last Studio assignment. She was mad at me for some reason so most of my shots looked like the two below. You can check the rest out on my photoblog!

Sometimes the best pictures aren't the ones where they are smiling! lol.

Puppy Towels

So Cadence LOVES her Puppy towel (unless of course she sees her elephant or kitty towels first...kids are funny that way). She had just taken a bath and before she got dressed I snapped a few shots. She was making the face below (which I thought was perfection in my photographer brain) I snapped the shot and then she told me that she went Pee-Pee. So this is Cady's "Pee-Pee Look." Yeah I thought you all would get a kick out of that! Unfortunately the Puppy towel is out of commission for a couple of days while he gets a bath, but I think he will make it though this trauma just fine! Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

The Bug

I often call Cadence Cady-Bug...mostly because she is always bugging me to do something. We stay very busy all day long until Cady goes down for her nap and then I am busy doing mom things that I can't get to when Cady is awake. I will sorely miss her nap times when she out grows them.
Anyway, Cadence had a rare morning where she wasn't bugging me to do something. She was sitting around in her Tinkerbell chair watching cartoons. Now, other than Winnie the Pooh, Cady doesn't watch that much TV, but I recently discovered that the Discovery Kids Channel play commercial free toddler/preschool aged shows in the morning. Cadence fell in love with a show called Peep and the Big Wide World (really funny show too, mostly because of a character called Quack, who is of course a duck). Also a big hit was the show right after Peep, called Hi-Five which has five young adults who sing songs and act out activities that are really fun for the 2-6 year age group. Both are very good and very clean shows and I enjoy making breakfast while she indulges. Cadence actually tries to talk about what happens in the shows too so i know that she is at least understanding most of what she is viewing and it is making her think.
This morning I snapped a few shots of her watching "her show" and came up with this gem of a picture!
I know! Total little model right? I had to stand on the couch to get this angle and then called her name. She looked up very briefly and then turned back to her show and told me "Mommy no joomping on dat couch!" lol. She likes to keep me in line.
Last Sunday Cadence got to wear one of her three, yes three, Christmas dresses. Don't ask. She loves them and would wear them every day (she picked out and then made gooey eyes at Grandma Viv and that is why we have two out of the three), but we have "church clothes rules" or at least I do and Cady hasn't really challenged me about it yet. :o) Here she is in her first dress of the Christmas season!
There was glitter ALL over ANYONE who touched her, but she loved it and looked so dang cute in her big girl dress! All three of her Christmas dresses are in size 3T so that they will reach past her knees. My girl is just way too tall for her age. Anyway, I will post some pictures next week of her in her next dress with her cousin Avery since they have matching dresses. Avery will be Blessed this weekend and Cadence is so excited to go visit. She keeps saying that she wants to hold HER baby again. It should be fun especially since we got that mini DVD player for the 5 and something hour drive to Arizona! Sadly Brady won't be able to join us in AZ for the Blessing, but he has assured me that the Christmas tree will be up when we get back!
We hope that you are all having a great start to the Christmas season!

Visiting Avery

Well it only took me two weeks, but I have worked though all the pictures of Avery! We had such a good time hanging out with Whitney and Cord and watching them learn to be the wonderful parents we knew they would be!
To start off, Avery was so tiny! She was 6lbs 1 oz when she was born and a bit smaller when they went home. But she was 20 inches long! She has this perfectly round head and the cutest little chin! Anyway to get a feel for how small she is here is a few pictures! The first one is of Cadence kissing her.

Despite her face in the above picture Cadence really did want to hold the baby. It was all she wanted to do the whole weekend. And she was so gentle! I was very impressed!

This one is one of my favorites! Avery was so fun to shoot! There are a bunch more pictures on my photo blog along with some of my other niece Saylor! Check them out and let me know what you think!

Hello Bridget!

Everyone, this is Bridget. Bridget is one of Cadence's friends from our ward. Bridget has won the award for the most fun had on a slide ever. I am serious. This girl was having a total blast. Every time she slid down there was something like this going on at the bottom...

Every. Single. Time. And she probably went down about a hundred times. It was fabulous. She is also a total ham. Once she realized that I was taking pictures she would wait at the top of the slide until I looked at her, then she would smile and wouldn't go down until I snapped a few shots. I was having a blast documenting her fun.
Cadence of course had a great time! She was running around with all the kids bossing them around and helping the little ones try and do things that they shouldn't. All in all it was a great day at the park! For more photos from our day check out my photo blog!

Football Weekend!

Brady and I got a weekend away! We flew out to Arizona to see my sister, Whitney, and her husband Cord. We also saw two football games while we were up there. ASU v Washington and a Pro football game, the Cardinals v the Carolina Panthers. ASU won which made Cord very happy (he is an ASU fan) along with the Panthers. Brady and I were cheering for the Panthers in the second game, mostly because a guy who Brady played football with in High School now plays for Carolina. The stadium was awesome and we had a blast, despite my getting pretty sick the first day! Both games were packed and there were lots of crazy fans all around us!
Also my sister is due any day now (literally, since she has been having contractions daily for the last week or so and is dialated to a 4/5) and I got to take some photos of her! Here is one of my favorites! I will post the rest on my photo blog so check them out and tell me what you think. (Whit I will get you a CD of everything very soon!)
