IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!!!!

It has been confirmed that Brady has a Programming job with the Air Force and he will be heading to basic at the end of December (after Christmas thank goodness!)!!!!!!!!!! We are super excited that this part of our lives is finally going the way we hoped! Training will be much shorter than expected. Brady will be gone for about four months and then we will be stationed somewhere! So as soon as May we could be moving (I am super sad about this part, but I am looking forward to the new adventures that we are sure to have!)...Thanks to everyone for all your support!

Wicked Hair

The other morning Cadence slept WAY in (didn't get up until 9:15am!). Her hair was insane so I took the opportunity to take some pictures of her waking up with her wicked, crazy morning hair!

And here is what it looks like after it has had about 45 minutes to deflate.

And Rory is way into books these days...mostly she likes to chew them (she just got her two bottom molars so chewing is her favorite thing these days). This one is her favorite though since it has all kinds of colors and textures in it!

Cadence has been a big help lately and she has developed into a serious Spongebob fan! It's one of the few shows that I don't mind watching a lot of with her! lol.

And for those of you wondering about Brady and the Air Force...We are about 99% sure that he got a Programming job and they tell us that he will be leaving for Basic Training December 29th. He will be gone from us for 4 months for all his training and then we will be stationed somewhere! I am soooooo happy to have some kind of plan in place! We will keep you all informed of any new news! :o)

Rory's 1 Year Stats...

We had Rory's 1 year appointment today and she was all of 17 lbs 10 ozs (that is 5th percentile for weight) and 28.5 inches tall (25th for height). She is perfectly healthy and the poor thing had to have 4 shots today. She was NOT happy. Cadence wasn't too happy about it either. :o)

Yesterday...

Cadence found a beetle in the loft. She named it Jella and played with it for about 3 hours before the poor bug finally escaped her clutches. :o)

Rory did attempt to eat and kill poor Jella on several occasions, but Cadence always saved her.

Cadence was very worried when Jella escaped. She wondered around the house for about 30 minutes calling for her beetle and telling her how worried she was about her. :o) Kids are so cute!

Today my girls have been silly. They were both in Cady's jewelry box pulling out and putting on everything they could find!

Rory's walking is only getting better! She walked all around the park last night and even tried to walk down the huge hill of grass to get to the kids playing soccer. Her balance is getting better and better now that she walks all the time!

Cadence is awesome as always. She has really gotten a grip on her tantrums now that Brady is working again. I really wanted to put her in a sport or pre-school this year, but with our lack of funds these days I don't think it will happen. That and we have no transportation during the day. So we play school and are working on some letters and songs at home. She knows all the letters, but we need work on writing them now, but mostly her name. I would like to get her reading before kindergarten. We will see how it goes!

We are working on getting ready for Rory and Aidric's Birthday Party on the 19th! Other than that things are pretty slow! Hope you all are happy and healthy!

Rory has decided that she can walk!!!

She has been walking everywhere today! The only time she crawls is when she thinks she is being left behind and needs to go fast! I love it!

Happy Happy Birthday Rory!

My sweet little baby is ONE today! The time has really flown by and I can't believe how much she has grown!

She is amazing! I love her silliness. She thinks that she can do everything Cady can do. She walks part time these days. I can't wait for her to be a full-time walker! She thinks just about everything is funny and in addition to "woof woof" and "daddy" she now says "uh-oh" and it is the cutest thing! I have been trying to get her on video saying it but she is stubborn about the camera. It sounds like "eh-ooo" and I get the silliest wet eyed smile when she does it! I love her to death and I can't wait to see what kind of toddler she is.

We aren't doing much today since we are having her party on the 19th with Aidric. Plus Cadence has chicken pox so that puts a damper on the day! I wanted her to know how much I love her and what a perfect fit she is in our family! Happy Birthday Rory!

Super Embarrassing Moments

So........Cady hasn't ever really said or done anything horribly embarrassing to Brady and I in her short life.

Every good thing has an end I suppose.

Tonight we went to the post office to mail a book someone requested through PaperBack Swap (check out their site! Very good way of trading books and getting new ones to read!). We use the Automated Postal thingie and since it was after hours it was really dead in there. When we got in there was a woman and her daughter using the machine and another woman behind her. We got in line. Now...the woman at the front of the line had the BIGGEST rear end I have ever seen. We are talking need three seats on an air plane big. Brady's raised eyebrows indicated that it was the same for him. Cadence didn't say anything so I thought things might be okay. Keep in mind that she has never said anything commenting on peoples size before so it really didn't occur to me that she would say anything. The woman with the large caboose finishes and they move over to the counters to finish with their packages. As they are walking away Cady says in her loudest toddler voice, into the obscenely quiet room:

"Mom! That lady has a really huge butt!"

She lingered over the word huge too.

Now, I don't think that this would have been as embarrassing for me had I not been thinking it. Heck I had already given her a nickname in my head for sobbing out loud. I immediately told Cadence that we don't say things like that because they are rude and I would have told her to tell the lady sorry, except they were ignoring us, something I am kind of grateful for. I am sure that I was ten different shades of red.

They left.

Brady had picked up Cady and was explaining in his calm way that she wasn't in trouble, but that we don't talk about people's butts in public, that some people are sad when we do that, etc. The woman in front of us started using the machine. Brady then said,

"Well. That was embarrassing."

The woman at the machine quipped, "Only because it was true."

She is right. Part of me wanted to laugh when Cadence said the awful words so loudly. It was that part of me that made my embarrassment that much worse. I shouldn't have found it humorous (well not until after the fact).

It is my job to teach them bit by bit what is appropriate and what isn't and that they can always ask us about things that confuse them in privacy. I know it will be a while before Cadence "gets" these things. I know I will probably have many more of these moments and I need to be better prepared to deal with them or head them off in advance. You know, see the problem before it comes.
